In the Kursk region on the night of Sunday, June 1, there was a bridge collapse during the movement of a freight train. As a result, part of the train fell onto a highway and a fire started, said Alexander Khinshtein, acting governor of the region. Three people were injured in the incident - one driver and two of his assistants, the Russian Investigative Committee (ICR) said.

The cause of the bridge collapse was an explosion, the Investigative Committee noted.

The accident occurred at the 48th kilometer of the highway Trosna-Kalinovka in the Zheleznogorsk district. “The highway under the bridge is blocked,” - specified Khinshtein.

This is the second collapse of a transportation bridge in Russia in a day. A few hours earlier, an automobile bridge collapsed in the Bryansk region, under which a passenger train traveling on the Klimovo-Moscow route was passing at that moment. The train derailed. The accident killed seven people and injured 69, including three children, said the governor of the region, Alexander Bogomaz. Among the injured, two adults and one child are in serious condition. Forty-seven people have been hospitalized.

Bogomaz later said the bridge near Bryansk had been blown up. “There was an explosion of the bridge on the highway during the movement of the train, where there were 388 passengers,” Bogomaz said on air on the Rossiya 24 TV channel.

The press service of the Moscow Railroad (MZhD) said that in the evening of May 31 at the Pilshino - Vygonichi crossing “there was a derailment of a locomotive and cars” of a passenger train. According to the MZhD, it happened “due to the collapse of a road bridge span as a result of illegal interference in transportation”.

Commander of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapaty submitted his resignation due to the tragedy at the 239th training ground, where a Russian strike killed a military training battalion.

Drapaty noted that mutual responsibility and impunity are poison for the army.

“I tried to eradicate it from the Land Forces. But if tragedies are repeated, it means that my efforts were not enough,” he added.
