Is there a word for when the media is constantly like 3+ years behind with "warnings" like this? I mean Jesus Christ, turning into?

True... Though things have accelerated at an alarming pace over the past few years
Better that they cover it than not. And the recent ramp up is worth reporting on, it's a new level of weaponization compared to previous administrations.
There's a pokemon for it.
I'm sure German could do a compound of "spät erkennen" or similar for a late realisation.
