Singh’s loss should prove the opposite

[–] kbal@fedia.io 7 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

Singh wants price controls on food. Mamdani wants publicly-owned grocery stores. They are not the same.

I want a publicly owned version of everything. Utilities, internet, phone, school, housing, food, etc etc. We can do capitalism if we have to, but make corporations compete with an entity with a comparable distribution network whose main goal isn’t lining their pockets.

Look at Saskatchewan. Lowest cell prices in the country because they have to compete with SaskTel, yet the big 3 still do fine. It works.

Hey everyone, look at this moron who can't tell brown people apart.

Why are you bringing up colour?

Canada saw a massive shift to the right in the last election

A NYC mayor not being a nazi doesn’t mean Canada somehow is trending progressive

they are very different political orientations and attitudes.

one of the important ways that mamdani separates himself is that instead of following what polls say, he leads public opinion to get people on side with him. which is something the NDP is incapable of, to whatever extent they even agree on goals, which is not much. NDP totally lacks any ambition which is the point here.

whatever you are trying to say about nazis it isn't really helping you

Great, so you have no clue what you’re talking about

Pharmacare, dental, guaranteed housing were all ambitious
