Recognizing that Musk is nothing more then a Mascot and isnt mentioned in the article i would somewhat need to agree
“In recent months, according to SpaceX, its programs have had to compete with one another for reviews at the FAA. This has significantly slowed down the Starship program and put development of a Human Landing System for NASA's Artemis program at risk. Inefficient regulation, the officials said, is decreasing American competitiveness as space programs in China and elsewhere around the world rise.”
Now its not like I personally care about who is “winning” a space race competition (All of humanity shoud win ideally, i am just glad we are back at aiming for the stars) but I absolutely see the point being made.
Its also industry politics because now if nasa has to delay a mission spacex can easily pass on the blame.
Almost every government agency is criminally understaffed.
I work in one, its a feature not a bug.
Something that still angers me to this day is that politicians have defend their royal income streets because otherwise smart people like doctors would not have an incentive to take the job.
All while the people actually doing the work are hit with continuous budget cuts and all expenses must have the cheapest negotiable contract possible.
When things go wrong its always look the gov workers /institution fucked up and rarely “these guys in charge” voted to criminally underfund the system causing destabilizing their quality.
