I actually asked him about that. The dial is made of a sandwich of 7 layers of lume and then sapphire glass on top. The screws hold them all together and he worked out a way to hide them but decided against it as a design choice. It being a field watch, it seemed more honest and functional. The screws heads do like up nicely though.
These screws will be a talking point for sure (and have already been). They make the watch more interesting. Personally I'm not a fan but the watch would be kinda dull without them so idk... This specific color variation is definitely the star of the show. Others don't feel that "studio underdog" to me.
did they guarantee that the screw heads will be aligned for all the units?
He said they'd worked out how to align the screw heads so he sort of if implied that I suppose

I actually bought a watermelon chrono as I've always wanted one, but I'm considering the field too - the lume really makes it.
