His father, Félix, is Congolese and was a track and field athlete who competed in the high jump, long jump and triple jump. His mother, Elodie de Fautereau. His dad and mom are 6'6 and 6'3.

Yao is the only child of 6-foot-7-inch Yao Zhiyuan and 6-foot-3-inch Fang Fengdi, both of whom were former professional basketball players.

Even significantly more crazy, Gheorghe Muresan was 7'7 and his mom and dad were 5'7 and 5'9

I think it is even crazier that knowing how huge Wemby is at 7'3.5" barefoot, Yao is reported to be over 7'5" barefoot.

Pretty sure they are both aliens.

Wasn't the legend that Yao was the bred product of two athletes and given a bunch of growth hormone and other concoctions to become the giant we know

Yep. And they basically forced him to train basketball from a young age and he hated it.
