I vaguely remember reading one time that he is the only French international to have never played for a professional team in France.

He was scouted by us but 15 years ago he was ruled off because he was too small, went to spain and became the player he is now

hopefully the narrative of 'too small' will die out now, because its a ridiculous excuse when looking at players like Leo, Grizi, Gabriel Jesus, Sterling, etc.
