Except you pulled a "but akshually ☝️🤓" when someone brought up the USA and Israel. You can make a case both are worse than China

Feel free to make that case and present it to me.
China isn't systemically killing everyone in Gaza or a billionaire oligarchy where people are struggling to afford a home and working into their 70s

American outlet. Not surprised. Just sounds like an over-exaggerated article on a terrorism prevention campaign. Europe and especially the middle east has had issues with Islamic terrorism. I doubt the sterilisation thing is true, unless it was an over zealous local official (often a local official does something stupid and western media starts depicting it as national policy). I saw a news report in China on TV highlighting the start of a local Uyghur festival in Urumqi. So they clearly aren't trying to pretend like they don't exist. They seem to take pride in their ethnic minorities over there from what I've observed.
