I really like to order a second RM2.
I’m in doubt if I want a Type Folio or not with this one.
I like to use this RM2 for work. I’m making contracts which the customer can sign directly. So my Adobe Sign account can go into trash from now on ;).
I think it’s more easy to type on a PDF and let my costumer sign. But I read that it isn’t possible to type on PDF’s a the moment. Will this become possible in the nearby future?
I also write a lot. I really like the feeling of handwriting, but a keyboard is more fast sometimes.
So my question is; should I order a Type Folio so that I’m prepared for the future or should I go for the regular folio without keyboard?
Honestly, the set is 40 euros more than without keyboard, so it’s not the world. And I see that you can hide the keyboard so you have the same position for handwriting as with the normal folio, it’s only a little thicker and a bit more heavy.
Can someone convince ma about what to do. What is your choice?
(Sorry for my little bit bad English sometimes haha)
I wouldn't hold your breath when it comes to being able to type on a PDF.
Here's a suggestion ...
Type whatever you need into an "original" document on a computer.
Use RCU to "print" the finished document to a PDF on the reMarkable tablet.
I use macOS, I'm not sure if the "virtual printer" functionality exists for windows or linux. If not, export the original to a PDF using whatever software you have on the computer, then send it to the reMarkable tablet (using RCU, or by uploading it through the tablet's web interface).
Use the reMarkable to sign the PDF.
Export the now-signed PDF back to the computer, or if the tablet is linked to the reMarakble cloud, email copies of the now-signed PDF to yourself and the client.
Ok. So you suggest not to order the Type Folio?
My main concern also is the extra weight and thickness. I guess the combination with Type is much thicker than normal Folio only.
It’s only 40 euro’s extra for the keyboard but I’m in great doubt.
I don't own one, and from what I've seen of how the rM2's "text" tool works, and from other peoples' comments here, I'm not sure that I would use it if I had it.
