Now Canada has lifted most of the retaliatory tariffs, with Carney explaining that Canada has the “best deal with the United States right now.”

Canadians may choose to follow the direction of their prime minister or they may view this as an opportunity to take more responsibility and continue to use their purchasing choices to influence trade relations.

Trump, however, told NBC that it was “highly unlikely” that the U.S. would need to use military force to make Canada the 51st state.

“I think we’re not ever going to get to that point,” he told the interviewer Kristen Welker when asked about military action against Canada and criticizing the country’s military spending.

He left it open ended, which is a perceived threat. He should have said NO, not highly unlikely.

Ah yes, known for his stable and clearly communicated messages. He said no guys!

At least it's words that were actually said, holy hell. Idk why people want to be panicked about fantasies instead of the very real problems he's causing.

Because you are picking and choosing the words that your narrative. He has used the word "annex" as well. He as used the word "51st state". But nah, those were my just joking or something like that for you I'm sure.

I don't have a narrative, nor did I "pick and choose." I specifically responded to what was said. The absurdity of this whole thing is incomprehensible.

Now correcting blatant falsehoods is support? Running around lying about stupid shit is actually harmful to any position.

Probably a different interview or the part prior, because he kept harping on it, and so was asked about it a lot. What I quoted was right from an interview. Since they found US spies trying to persuade Greenland people to merge with USA, I would say you 100% cannot trust trump he is a known liar, like Pathological liar; that wants to turn USA into the next North Korea

I'm not saying I trust him. The original claim was that Trump threatened to invade Canada and go to war with Canada. That claim is untrue. It did not happen. At no point did it happen.

Here you go, he said highly unlikely , looks like he backed down later https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_9iHvFLUkpE
