The media has been promoting this attitude for decades, and literally the only reason they have to say this is that NDP has never been in power before. It's such incredibly circular logic, I'm amazed how often it gets repeated uncritically. All major parties have platforms, party offices, candidates who can be contacted. A shakeup is needed (NDP, Green, a mishmash of independents, whatever), but with that shut door logic there will NEVER be a time that people can elect anybody other than the ones most likely to take their place as leaders for granted and forget they're public servants.

I mean the NDP can't even keep its own house in order. But in the end they need good leadership, and I'm not a fan of their current leaders. I don't like the leaders of any of the parties though, and I just wish someone good would come along and take down Trudeu and the CP
