So I should first say I'm not a watch enthusiast (I wear a apple watch daily). I received 9k in gift cards from my job to Tourneau and I have sat on it a few years (I now know that was dumb). I believe it is fiscally irresponsible to not now buy something.

I am looking for any and all advice on what I should do/buy with this gift card from Tourneau.

I originally wanted to get a moon watch a AND a Rolex, I realize since I have let years pass this is a probable impossibility.

Here's where my thoughts are currently. I think I would prefer a Rolex (you know, because the name) I like yellow gold and I know I would want the jubilee bracelet. Getting one from 1986 would be cool because it's my birth year. I would only wear it a few times a year. I would want to pass it down to my son in 20 or so years.

So with that said I'm not set on anything I do appreciate cool watches I'm just not huge into them because of the costs associated with a lot of them. I'm looking for any and all advice and suggestions on what I should do with the money I have to spend. I would be willing to spend some cash (sub 1k)if that dramatically improved what the logical choice should be.

I appreciate any help in advance

You’ve waited this long. If you’re going to hold it long term why not take your time and enjoy the process to figure out what you like. Stick with familiar top tier brands to keep it simple and spend just a little time researching it. Then it becomes personal, certainly more so than any advice received here.

Thanks... My fear is the value of watches seems to keep going up so there longer I wait the less options I have, is that a fair assumption or no?

Fair assumption in my opinion. The inflation is making your buying power smaller(though it's taken the biggest hit already), and many brands seems to be moving up in price range. So brands you can buy today, might not be brands you can buy into in a few years.

Though with that said, I don't think an extra month or two researching and considering your purchase will have a great impact on your buying power. So I agree you should take some time to consider your option. Just not few years of consideration.
