This would be so much more impactful, if any of these people still had active projects with Disney. Put your money where your mouth is, or it's all just performance art for publicity.
Why is nothing ever good enough?!
Can we not just appreciate that high-profile people are standing up for what's right? Are you seriously blaming Tatiana Maslany for not pushing harder for She-Hulk Season 2 just so that she can rally harder against the parent company two years after the show ended?
:SMH:
Perfect is always the enemy of good with these people. They will also always have some bullshit excuse to say everyone is in on it.
Just the other day there was an article on how the congressional Dems have been blocking votes so the GOP changed a rule to be a simple majority instead of 2/3rds. A few dems votes for something and now everyone is being labeled as helping the GOP despite months of blocking.
I know exactly what you mean, have seen it more than I ever wanted to, and just "ugh" every time. This isn't the proper community to dive any deeper into that topic, so I'll leave it at that.
Tatiana Maslany has beef with Disney over her show getting cancelled. That puts her motives here in question. For all anyone knows, this is just a cynical ploy to relitigate that slight, in an attempt to leverage the current situation for her own benefit.
Lol, no. Disney won't hire her again. It's not good for any career to burn bridges with the biggest companies. She'd have to be very stupid to do it out of spite and I don't get the impression she's stupid.
She already burned those bridges with them...that's my point. Doing this now, does nothing except revoice her old grievances with them. It has literally no impact on their decision making, right now.
The only benefit this has on anyone is Maslany. It gets her name back in the spotlight, and gives her the chance to virtue signal to her fans.
While exacerbating the biggest employer in her industry. Right.
Isn't that what she's doing anyway?
Yes, so it comes with personal consequences.
I was talking about her beef with Disney over them cancelling her show. She's already suffered those consequences. This doesn't change that. It just gets people talking about her again.
Yes, I get that. There’s having a disagreement and there’s burning bridges to never work together ever again. It’s likely now the latter. So it is detrimental to her personally, even knowing the previous disagreement. She’s not Scarlett johannsen who can walk away and still be in demand from other studios. It’s a risk for her to speak out. I don’t think what you are saying about virtue signalling to fans is acccurate. She is likely to have just as many fans annoyed by her involvement.
I think you're missing the fundamental point that I'm making. Her "burning bridges" with Disney doesn't matter. Why would they care about that? Her blowing up her own career isn't going to impact their decisions at all.
How would her taking a stand here, convince Disney to reinstate Kimmel's show...or in any way change their current course? She has no leverage.
The only way to accomplish anything, is if Disney has something to lose.
Well, I’ve seen reports that Disney are looking at reinstating Kimmel due to the backlash against them. So, what she is promoting is working.
If she is actively campaigning against them and encouraging consumers to leave them, they won’t be hiring her again.
Despite their previous disagreement, up to this point, if they thought having she hulk return would make them money, they’d do it. They don’t have feelings, they have lawyers. They now won’t touch her as that would send the wrong message to others.
