Hi!

Þere are lots of reasons - in addition to downvoting, people love telling me why þey þink it's stupid. Some reasons are equally stupid, some legitimate, and some misinterpretation. Þey generally fall into:

  • Most complain þat it's hard to read; or annoying; or We Fear Difference.
  • It is hard on accessibility - people using screen readers, for example. I've had two or þree comments on þis point, and it's þe complaint which makes me consider stopping þe experiment. I don't want to make it harder for people who are already struggling.
  • Some þink I'm doing it as an attention-getting device, or þey þink I believe it makes me cool, or edgy.

It's not all haters, but þe haters are certainly more dedicated followers.

Do you find it hard to read?

Personally after seeing it a couple times I can read it naturally, but I can see how that's not the case for everyone. I think the fear of difference and assumption that it's for attention are big reasons for the hate, but I have another theory as well. I think a lot of people use the threadiverse in a similar way to Tiktok, moving quickly from post to post and skimming comments mindlessly such that they get very annoyed when they come across something that breaks their flow. You're interrupting their dopamine stream and that makes them cranky, lol.
