It's a full-color e-reader tablet that displays at 60fps. That's some excellent display technology

It's not an e-paper screen, though. It's basically just a regular screen with a matte screen protector on top. Not really impressive, if you see it live

It's not that bad. I have an older nxpaper phone and really loved the screen. It is indeed a glorified matte protector, but it felt really easy to read on. It also has a "low blue light" mode, a black and white mode and low brightness. I was longing for an 8incher with that screen and honestly would've gotten this if I hadn't already bought an android e-ink device.

I hadn't gleaned that it was an e-reader/e-ink from the article though in hindsight, it makes sense based on the name.

I would love to see how it looks but still find the hardware completely underwhelming plus the fact that it's exclusive to Verizon.
