Thanks! Yeah, I just decided to take a short break because the vibes felt dark on here for a little bit. I missed meme-ing with everyone and am happy to be back.
I'm woking on a new filtering system for Lemmy/PieFed that I hope will remove a lot of the negative post. While I believe it's important to stay politically informed, Lemmy's constant doom and gloom has been really bad for my mental health. The goal is a single toggle to "hide US politics", but there is no reason this filtering system couldn't be applied to other types of content. Stay tuned.
Below is a preview. As you scroll through the home feed, you should see some posts are hidden with an explanation: "Political words", "Hide political communitites", "Political persons", etc.
