I mean why would they reconsider having one of the largest current superstars performing? Especially if that star reaches to an audience share that you don't already have and can potentially bring in new viewers to your sport?

If they cave … even if my cowboys made the superbowl (stop laughing) I wouldn’t watch the game.

30 years ago y'all went three times! They'll make it back after Jerry Jones moves on to that great press conference in the sky.

Rumor is that Stephen Jones is as football-blind as Jerry and twice as cheap. Cowboys might finally stop playing chicken with every major free agent contract, but that won't help much if they turn into the Raiders, Cardinals, or Bengals.

Oof, I was not aware. Gotta pay for talent. No one is going deep into the playoffs mainly just paying their QB

It's funny how many teams need to learn that lesson. I pay some attention to hockey and is the same thing there. For the past two years it has been Edmonton v Florida in the Stanley Cup and both times Florida has won. Edmonton spends too much of their salary cap on just a few players while Florida has much more depth with players willing to take pay cuts to win. It seems Edmonton and McDavid might have figured this out as he is the best player in the sport right now and just re-signed for the same amount he was already making instead of asking for a huge raise. It's wild how often people need to learn a lesson the hard way instead of learning from other's mistakes.

It's definitely what the owner class wants. The Tampa Bay Rays in MLB come to mind as a team that spends very little and anytime they have any success the corporate sports media start the "Is the future of baseball operations* articles.
