Doug and Carol travel to the port city of Milan, where they have to solve a series of murders committed by a masked slasher at an Italian Fertility Festival. And Soviet Spies. INTERPOL’s there, too.

Less self-aware? They had a shot that just said "VFX: Car on fire" in the first few minutes of the movie.

To be fair this movie was crowdfunded and people have been itching for an update. The trailer feels like it’s designed to play to people on Kickstarter and at New York Comic Con (where it debuted and the room went nuts). Those people are all very in on the joke.
