Imo these are some of the biggest misses in the draft in the modern era, weighing draft position, value lost, and how bad the player is in a vacuum
-
Bennett- Easily the biggest bust of history, even considering the bad draft. So bad that anywhere in the lottery he’d still be a bust. Averaged a career 3 ppg, traded every year, got cut from the worst team in the league. Went to some trash french league, averaged 3 ppg and got cut there too
-
James Wiseman- Warriors loss lots of value with this pick. Must be the basketball gods cause it’d be unfair if that team had Lamelo.
-
Markelle Fultz- Went #1 in a stacked draft. No one will ever know the full mystery of what happened to him in Phily. He’s turned it around at least, but at some point the pundits were saying he’d become the biggest bust in history
-
Dragan Bender- Cool name but just couldn’t play
-
Josh Jackson- another awful Suns pick
-
Marvin Bagley- picked over a generational player. Could have done better on another team.
-
Jonny Davis- So bad he looked trash in the G league
-
Killian Hayes- generationally awful guard
-
Frank Ntilikina- Phil Jackson must’ve been trolling on his way out. I knew this kid was a bust before he was even drafted. A guard that couldn’t shoot, had the dribble moves of a 70 power forward and averaged 5 pts in some crappy french league. Never got why people thought he’d be good
-
Kevin Knox- (The Knicks lol)
-
Jahil Okafor- Unbelievable hype that didn’t pan out. People were calling him a lock for hof in his rookie year
Bennett went to Turkey, not France
