This is not the first time a player has won the Ballon D'or after winning the world cup, why is this such a big debate?

This award should go to the best player right? Then why not Kevin De Bruyne? What kind of a season does he need to have to win the Ballon D'or? He was far better than Haaland, wasn't he? If you're gonna be mad then be mad on behalf of the underappreciated players.

There is not a lot of difference between Messi and Haaland. One spent time walking but produced some great things when he had the ball and the other scored a thousand tap ins and went missing when he didn’t get those easy chances.

Haaland legit had more good performances against top opposition than Messi did last season. The world cup somehow made people assume Messi performed well against top clubs all season. It simply isn't true.

Haaland not scoring in the CL Semi Final and Final is somehow getting more attention than Messi ghosting in the RO16 (twice) and not even making it there. Ghosting against the same club that Haaland scored twice and got an assist against btw.

For every anonymous performance you can name from Haaland against a good team, Messi had 2x more. The guy had more goal contributions against the bottom 6 Ligue 1 clubs than he did against the top 14 ffs. 6 of his CL G/A were against Maccabi Hafia alone which fooled people into thinking he was consistent in that competition too.

Messi had 13 goal contributions against bottom 6 and 19 against the top 14 last season.
