Wemby has been a monster in the 4th quarters so far this season, the difference in efficiency between his play in the first 3 quarters and the clutch is astonishing

I'd like to see him play 30 minutes a game with an actual point guard

Nope. We’re stealth tanking this year and calling it a player development year. After we had all the turnovers in the first in the suns game and pop is on the sidelines talking about: “y’all are just young and learning each other. Calm down and keep playing defense.” That’s when I knew for sure he doesn’t care what happens on offense and just vibe.

This whole year is gonna be sochan learning the point and nothing else. Just mentally prepare yourself now.

Wemby has his own exercise session focused on screens. He had multiple plays in a row where all he did was run around setting different screens. These games are nothing more than live practice for individuals and the team.

Question as someone who doesn’t watch Spurs a ton, does SAS really see Sochan as their future PG? Or is this more of a stop gap to develop him into a secondary ball handler and draft or acquire your starter PG down the road ?

They see a defense first PG who is 6'8" being someone who can be physical early and limit other teams from getting into plays. Lot's of learning to see that effort mature.

Yeah from the outside it looks like Pop's long term vision of Sochan is to turn him into a Diaw type of player (or I suppose more like Draymond, considering the rest of his game) whilst also understanding that those minutes will lead the Spurs to another high lottery pick. On a roster that clearly needs another foundational piece or four.

If this Sochan stuff works out there's probably 3(?) starters on this team when you decide to really try to build and win? Wemby, Vassell, and Sochan? Get that fourth in the draft, have all those picks, flexible contracts, a shit ton of cap and now you're cooking.
