Perks of not taking your company public? I hate two comma mfers as much as the next red blooded American, but Gabe ain't the one.

What you're after is a bit of socialism.

We don't have to kill all the millionaires and billionaires, they are just required to contribute to the world more than they take, as long as they do that they can have their luxury yachts.

The problem is almost none of them actually do contribute anything to the world and most of the ones that do contribute things that the world doesn't want. Elon Musk contributes a lot of electric cars to the world, which would be a good thing, it's just a shame they're all dangerous killing machines.

Elon Musk actively hinders his companies from succeeding. People need to stop glorifying his involvement in companies he paid to have his name on.

Financial (the capital's) success isn't the same as company success or even some sort of measure how much a company continues to society in more intrinsic terms.

We have one success metric & we can't be surprised it's winning.

Really sucks he sullied the name of Tesla because of exactly this. He didn't found the company, only bought his way into it. I got a man crush for Nikola Tesla, and Elon fucked his name up!

They wouldn't be millionaires or billionaires then. You don't get millionaire without appropriating the labor of others.

Hard disagree. My mom is a working class socialist and a millionaire.

Edit to add: million ain't as big as it used to be.

[–] Socialism_Everyday@reddthat.com 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Care to elaborate how she earned that million exactly?

And how did she get a million? What does she teach?

[–] YiddishMcSquidish@lemmy.today 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Million ain't as much as it used to be. There are actually tons of millionaire teachers.

[–] BombOmOm@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

Yeah, I recall a Ramsey poll where the fourth highest profession for millionaires is teaching.

Learning from others and following a plan is how one becomes a millionaire. Teachers have those critical skills down.

[–] YiddishMcSquidish@lemmy.today 2 points 1 month ago

Someone said almost exactly this a couple days ago. Like being a millionaire ain't the flex it used to be.

How much does a STEM teacher make monthly in your country (after taxes)?

[–] YiddishMcSquidish@lemmy.today 1 points 1 month ago

Not entirely sure, but she is a big leader in her arena.

[–] YiddishMcSquidish@lemmy.today 3 points 1 month ago

Yes! I'm actually closer to a communist but socialism would be a welcome change in the US.

[–] minorkeys@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

At the most he's the least horrible of them.
