I obtained this watch a short time ago and always assumed the triple date window was merely a cosmetic attempt to make the date window appear like an altimeter as a nod to IWC’s heritage… yesterday, I looked at my watch for the date and finally understood its utility! Every quarter past the hour when the date would otherwise be obscured, I can make out the date! 🤦🏻♂️ Yes, I’m a slow learner…
That’s funny, I was just looking at a watch yesterday with a similar date display and wondering why on earth they’d do that, but this makes a lot of sense.
