"At each other's throats?" 30% of the country is behaving like Nazis, others are calling them on it, and a disturbing percentage are silent. Yes I suppose more people could be silent to help preserve his feelings.
He has the money and platform to speak out. Instead he leaves.
He can still speak out just as well
Money is also the #1 thing this adminitration cares about. Cameron taking him money, businesses, and most importantly tax dollars to NZ and Canada instead is the most impactful individual action he could do
Giving an interview with what sounds like a both sidesism is not helpful in a speaking out sense. As for taxes is production companies are still California based and his distributor is still 20th Century Fox.
To be fair; famous people usually get shat on (and rightly so) when speaking about politics
Because their "politics" usually involves everyone ignoring their grievances in favor of preserving celebrities' comfort.

As a professional scuba diver I think his ocean-related work is much more important than America. Sorry guys but the world doesn't revolve around you.

Your country either has something America/Russia/China wants or it’s trash to these people.
Then he can do without the both sidesism.
Whats irritating about this is not so much that he chose to leave but that he did so while making an unhelpful comment attacking every side in the political mess.
I would also be careful ignoring Trump. As much as I would like to think Trump is ignorable he has nukes and unlike Xi and Putin seems to have dementia.
