Overview:

Electric Vehicles are a key part of our tomorrow and how we get there. If we can get all the fossil fuel vehicles off our roads, out of our seas and out of our skies, we'll have a much better environment. This community is where we discuss the various different vehicles and news stories regarding electric transportation.

Not a waste of resources. Electric buses are only viable of there's an infrastructure for them, which wouldn't exist without the popularization of electric cars. And before you start laying tracks everywhere, there are plenty of geographies where they aren't applicable.

I don't think there is really a geography where trains are not feasible. I also don't think (charging) infrastructure would be a problem because public transport should be highly predictable. And saying that 3 ton vehicles that are mostly used less than an hour per day are not a waste of resources is disingenious. I know a lot of people can't imagine a life without cars, I couldn't at some point, but it is possible and it is even better.

I've lived without cars most of my life. It is better to have reliable public transit, it's true freedom. I'm enthusiastic about public transit, trains, metro, streetcars. You should educate yourself about their limitations. They age actually quite restricted to flat surfaces.

Maybe you can tell that to the Swiss, or the Austrians... Some of the best train connections, in the middle of the Alps.

I thought we were talking urban mobility. Unless you're suggesting tunnels and bridges criss-crossing hilly neighborhoods. Or perhaps you thought I was referring to buses in cross country service?

I am using public transport for everything, urban, suburban, cross country. Trains, busses, trams, subways, sometimes even cable cars. There is a public solution for everything, in my opinion. Although, the more urban and the higher the population density the easier.

Edit: I am not sure if I am just missing your point. Are you just talking about electric busses in an urban enviroment?
