During the past week, Sync would say that I was logged out and needed to be logged in. However, I appeared to still be logged in. Since I kept receiving the error messages, I logged out of my account and attempted to log back in. Now I get a login error and can't login. I know it's not a password issue, because I logged out and logged back in via a web browser. Anyone have a solution?

Sdf prematurely updated their Lemmy instance to an unstable version, and the apps don't have support yet. I made an account on another instance in the mean time (and maybe forever depending on how SDF handles this).

As Ducky has stated, this has to do with the Lemmy version the instance is running, as the authentication method is changing for 0.19 release. In the in-between both methods are "supposed" to work, but app developers need to do something apparently. I'm using Eternity temporarily because it works with my instance that I had upgraded to the 0.19 branch not realizing that it was going to cause login issues for Sync. =(

I'm running Thunder v0.2.5-4 and it works. I'll keep using Thunder until the problem with Sync and lemmy.sdf.org gets sorted out. Thanks for helping me understand.

You can't fault SDF for upgrading. There many highly requested features in lemmy 0.19 like instance blocking. Also many of the clients have done the porting work necessary for 0.19 so they thought that switching to a beta version will have more pros than cons.

First time experiencing something negative as a result of going with lemmy.sdf.org. Still happy with them overall.

I ended up creating an account on another instance too, so that I could use Sync. Manually re-adding all of my communities to the new instance account was a pain in the neck, but glad that I can use Sync again now.
