Background: I work for a LEO agency, I recently made the Lake Patrol unit and wanted a watch to reward myself and also its just time for a new watch. I am clearly thinking dive as I will get certified and assist with our dive team as well. Initially I was thinking of a Pelagos 39. As it is just flashy enough to satisfy any daily needs. CON: No date.

The dilemma: I have always loved the Longines Zulu Time… when they released the 39mm, I feel it has been calling me…. I just think it’s beautiful.

Just seeking opinions if I should shell out for the Pelagos and or similar diver, or get the Longines and a less expensive diver. Or make the Longines the daily driver for my LE work and daily life.

Pelagos does sound like a good choice. Or a Oris Aquis for something a bit more affordable (altho that one is mostly polished steel, so might be too shiny/flashy). Or a little above prise wise you could already be looking at Omegas.
