The option of whether to show bots or not, is'nt app specific, its in your Lemmy account settings.

[โ€“] LemmyKnowsBest@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

So if I set it up that way in Lemmy using a browser, will the anti-bot effect transfer to my sync app too?

[โ€“] fisco@lemmy.ml 15 points 1 year ago

As its an account setting, then yes it's effect is global.

I think she is asking if that option is available in Sync to turn off/on.

I don't use Sync, but if it has access to your account settings, as many apps do, then you could change this from within the app..

You don't use Sync? We are literally in the Sync for Lemmy sub. LOL Whatchu doin' here?

Nah but I discovered this sub a couple days ago and it took me a couple more days to create a new email and a new username using the right instance so I could finally use it through the sync app

I was just scrolling on by, & even though I use a different app, or apps, your initial post was more of a general question, so I thought I'd drop in..๐Ÿ˜ฌ Surprised you had to change to a different instance in order to use sync ..๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Yeah it took me a couple days until the light bulb went off in my head, every time I clicked on my sync app it opened in a browser then I looked more closely and noticed there are two sync subs, one in .world and one in .ML. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ So I established new credentials in .world and finally got into the app

This should not matter. Using sync is not bound to a specific instance. I am on an entirely different Lemmy instance and can use sync.

As long as you're all sorted, even though I'm not quite sure why you couldn't log into Sync with your existing instance credentials...but anyway you're good now, thats the main thing ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป
