I purchased this TAG Heuer Carrera in 2010 without knowing much about watches at the time but now that I have become more interested in watches, I have learned that TAG Heuer is considered a controversial brand and many enthusiasts have a distaste for it, maybe because the wide range of watches that the brand has made at different price points after Heuer was acquired by TAG.
So I am wondering what is the verdict on my Carrera (CV2015) in 2023. I have not been able to find any reviews for this watch so I am curious to know what this community thinks about it. Is it considered one of TAG's good watches or one of their mediocre ones? For the record, I love this watch and how it looks and maybe this is all that matters but I am alao curious to know where it stands compared to other watches.
Nice watch if you didn't overpay for it. Movement is derivative of old 7750, unlike newest Tag in-house calibers. IMO Tag is not controversial brand (unlike Hublot which is hated much more) it's just not having the same cult following as Omega/IWC/Brightling, while being in the same price brackets. That's why some people still consider it overpriced. Nevertheless all modern high end watches are considered to be overpriced by someone. IMO modern Tags with T02/T20 calibers are worth acquiring by watch aficionado, especially tourbillon version for those who can afford it.
