Schumer's just playing the smart game, waiting until Trump's approval is 0% before raising any alarms.
Sure, politically unsavvy people will say, "Oh, a psychopath is at this very moment doing war crimes won't our elected leaders represent us and stop him," or "Please, please, you useless hump, just lift up even one finger to stop the most dangerous demented narcissist in the greatest position to do harm in the history of the world."
But c'mon. Don't be an idiot. You people are worried about "reality," but this is more important than reality. This is politics. The most important thing is never ever risk any political capital on anything ever.
I'm not sure if I'm just being autistic and missing some obvious sarcasm or if you're being for real
I... Like, I really was trying to be sarcastic. I tried. Like, with the italicized words for over-the-top emphasis? Like, isn't waiting until "0%" just too absurd to be taken seriously? Or putting in quotes "you useless hump, just lift up even one finger"...? Help me, what am I doing wrong?
I'm sorry, my bad, just an autistic moment. It's just getting harder and harder to tell these days.
Trick to figure out: ask yourself what the person would have to believe to make the comment earnestly, and what they'd have to believe to make it sarcastically.
Either that poster thinks its good that Schumer is doing nothing as America commits warcrimes, or they think its very bad.
There's not a lot of people who'd will come out and say "its good that Schuner is ignoring literal warcrimes", so it's obviously the latter.
I wish I had your optimism. I've argued a lot with liberals, centrists and the like who would argue that circles are square to defend the Democrat establishment in the past, so a completely incoherent position and a complete lack of actual values and beliefs doesn't even surprise me that much.
Still, there was enough doubt in there for me to ask, so I suppose that's good!
Yes, but they wouldn't confront the fact that they're enabling warcrimes, they'd just pretend they're powerless and its 's fault for not voting hard enough.
Meanwhile the someone mocking libs will rub libs complicity in their face every opportunity.
I've seen many people say this shit unironically. It ain't just the 'tism dude. Trust me, I've asked the same question many times.
Nothing! The comment is totally fine.
