You're transported back to 1994 with all your current knowledge and $50,000. Your goal is to create the world's biggest online shopping company.

How do you go about it?

As a further thought experiment, if you travelled back to 1960 with all your current knowledge and the goal of becoming the richest person on earth, what businesses would you start?

I'd probably try to work from the inside, slowly use that 50k to hire people I need assistance from or tech to stay covert. Attempt to make it a better workplace for all. Find reasons to implement employee positive decisions. Let it be huge but let it be for the people truly.

They might even become richer technically but it's okay because we're using it to clean oceans ("as a ruse" to investigate the oceans).

Play both sides. I'll wind up helping bezos and other baddies do some fxked shit sure, but it'll also benefit the world.
