Hi all. This watch was owned by my girlfriend's grandfather (now deceased) and we're looking into getting it restored as a gift to her mother. She thinks it is from the 40s or thereabouts but I haven't had much luck finding any info online. Are there any vintage Rolex experts who might be able to provide any info about this model of watch? Thanks!

My money is on a "Marriage" watch. A Pocket watch converted to a wrist watch.

Most times they just installed custom loops on the original case to attach straps to, but some people actually made custom cases. And there were many Rolex pocket watches with the crown at the 3 O'clock position.
