That has basically been the status quo for the past year. If you want something to succeed you have to keep it on the down-low so Trump doesn't notice otherwise he'll rip it to shreds in a tantrum.
The US is being governed by someone who is much alike the insane kings you read about in history books and fantasy novels.

In sane countries the president does not have the power to interfere in these things.
It's kinda funny how the US was founded on antimonarchist principles and then they installed a monarch on top of their new system.
