hi! i have australian citizenship but currently live in the usa on a non-immigrant visa so i cannot legally work in the u.s., but would i be authorized to work remotely for australia or any other countries?

No, not if you are based in the US.

Typically a remote company will pay you via EOR, employer of record, which means a US based entity. You'll need your W2 and SSN for this.
