I'm definitely going to age myself with this one but Yankee Candle Company. I was a kid when they hit the scene and I remember thinking to myself what a stupid business idea it was. Who wants a store just for candles? If somebody presented me with the idea today, I would still think it was a stupid business. That's how I know I don't know shit about businesses.
I’d agree, but there are so many other successful candle businesses, I’d have to eat my words.
My Fiancee introduced me to Bath and Body Works the first time we went Christmas shopping together. I’d bet that most of their sales are generated by their candle special prices during the holidays.
