For people under 30 the wage gap is almost gone, and in several industries it has been inverted.
For the same position and education, young women now outearn young men.
However, if you take a global average across all ages, it's very much alive.

I had read at one point, That the wage gap isnt so much (where I am) women vs men, but primary care givers to children vs everyone else.
Default parents miss work, it just happens.
Most of the successful women I know under 30 seem to make more than the successful men under 30 I know. Of course this is annecdotal evidence and doesn't account for lifestyle, upbringing, or the ratio of genders in my peer group.
Completely anecdotal, but I find young women have significantly more drive than young men.
i noticed that too, more of them are in stem labs at college than men, and they get hired more often in stem jobs. of course if you ignore the factors: such as getting preference for all these stem positions, plus have significant help gear towards women in college.
