Home automation is the residential extension of building automation.

It is automation of the home, housework or household activity.

Home automation may include centralized control of lighting, HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning), appliances, security locks of gates and doors and other systems, to provide improved convenience, comfort, energy efficiency and security.

I'm in the process of planning the replacement of a number of 3 & 4 switches in my house (all were wired in the last year). Some of these, I'd like to turn into Dimmers - not just switches, since I'll have the opportunity now.

The question is, should I go with Zooz or GE/Jasco? In the past, I've used GE/Jasco Z-Wave switches & dimmers for replacement of standard switches, but going to 3-way & 4-way devices - I figured I would ask to see what others have done. Obviously, I don't want to have to run any new wires - simply replace the existing with "smart" switches.

I'm using a Hubitat Hub, and prefer Z-Wave (but will be open to suggestions on Zigbee or other switch products).

Thank you

I have GE 3-way switches and love them.

I forgot the name of the app, but in hubitat, there is a mirroring option, so realistically all you'll have to do is connect the main switch properly, and run the power to the extension switches (no need for traveler). Then in the app, it'll mirror the status of each switch to the others, so if you turn on from one, they all turn on. If you dim at another, they all dim. Easier to work with than using the actual add-on switch, but also more pricey as its using all smart switches.
