That's just a shadow on his shirt collar.
If you look at the lower side of that shadow, that shadow gets a light slice again... As if it is a shadow being lit from above.
Also look at his lips real close.
Edit: ngl, the comment about how the shapes move upwards during his inhalation helped my brain make sense of what is going on. Yeah, I do think it's just a guy, no weird mask failure.
Tell me no one really believes this. The absurdity of this cover up makes no sense. It's either:
A shadow.
A cover up so elaborate that it requires expensive hyper realistic masks. And somehow hiring a normal person who doesn't need a face mask was impossible.
This is like people looking at moon landing photographs and complaining about things like shadows.
I have been observing a lot of really, REALLY weird interactions in the fediverse lately. Way too many comments on this platform just aren't even close to being in touch with reality. Who the fuck are these people downvoting you for saying that it's implausible for a known public figure to actually be some actor in a rubber mask!? What the actual fuck lmao !?!?!
Yeah, it would be easier to do a face swap filter. Honestly, this could be a filter that is just tweaking. Assuming they are hiring actors, it would be better to hire one and do AI face and voice swaps.
Granted I haven't tested one, but the first results I got on Google for "Hyper realistic mask" was a site that looked legit with good reviews and masks that looked better than what was in this clip. They were less than a grand, which is nothing in showbiz. Remember - Fox News is not news, it's entertainment.
Mythbusters did an episode on it. Neither of them looked remotely good while talking, and their heads were extra big. Mission Impossible is not real life.
To be fair, Mythbusters was 20 years ago and I'm sure they've improved the technology. Not only that but you can literally look up videos of people with silicone masks on YouTube that date back to before AI video was even a thing.
Not saying that this video is of a dude wearing a mask. It's obviously just a shadow when you zoom in to see.

Head too big, mouth not moving, it's exactly what I said.
You can have more than one light. In fact, it's common practice to use multiple light sources specifically to avoid unfortunate shadows like what's seen in the video. And since your brain doesn't expect any shadows on his head from the soft lighting your brain assumes the only shadow present isn't a shadow at all. If you look really closely you can see the skin moving along the seam as he talks yet the seam looks exactly the same no matter how it moves. And when he inhales it looks like the seam gets sucked in which would make literally zero sense if it was a mask.
if you look at the right side in the second half of the video, it seems that the mask is overlapping the shirt he is wearing. how do you explain that? Honestly i don't know whether this is real or not. To the commenter talking about using a face swap filter - you realize there aint working the youngest, most tech-savvy people on television shows?
