Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
- Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
- No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.
All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

The J6ers should have been machine gunned on the Capitol steps. The Capitol Police won't make that mistake again.
I hate maga & this take is insane. State violence even against fascists is just state violence, that would have just given more power to idiots claiming the government was compromised. It’s not like J6 actually prevented Biden from becoming president.
It was an INSURRECTION! They literally tried to overthrow the government and install a Dictator-For-Life. If they had succeeded, a lot of legislators would have been murdered, as well as the VP. Those people were no longer American citizens, they were TRAITORS, trying to overthrow the government. Death is exactly what they deserve, either in the commission of their treason, or after. None of them should have been pardoned, because they all should have been executed.
Actually, the fascist government blindly killing civilians, contrary to your belief, is not a good thing. You want it to be legal for the US government to open fire on crowds of civilians? There were journalists in that crowd, and I’m sure there were kids. Yeah that’s the insurrectionists fault but that doesn’t mean you can just open fire on them and their wives and kids, a crowd full of newscasters and fucking journalists wtf is wrong with you? These were seditious, treasonous Insurrectionists, attempting do LITERALLY DESTROY OUR DEMOCRACY! Defending against that sort of domestic terrorism is the very least that I expect the Capitol Police to do.
The entire reason they felt comfortable actually assaulting the Capitol is because they were counting on COWARDLY people like you putting POLITENESS ahead of our Democracy. You would have let them destroy our democracy before fighting back, because it would be unseemly.

The moment they decided to join an Insurrection, and overthrow their nation, they surrender their protection as citizens. At that point they are enemy combatants, attacking the seat of our government. They erected a gallows, and imtended to kill many elected politicians, including the VP. If you don't defend the very seat of your Democracy, with all the major players present and under fire, when do you defend it?
