The most valuable argument against privacy, is it being abused by criminals. It's foundational to the "I have nothing to hide" fallacy: waived by those, conditioned into believing, mass-surveillance being a proportional compromise; if potentially elevating their sense of "safety". What they fail to recognize however, is mass-surveillance simply being an escalation, of the fundamentally flawed enforcement model: responsible for their lack of confidence in it. Enforcement of laws should be the exception, not the rule; otherwise conflicting incentives are ought to be addressed first (primarily: large discrepancies in socio-economics, and in turn all that stems from it).

Crime prevention based on enforcement can only prove unsustainable: to be compensated for, using automated systems during technological abundance (which is now). These systems are incompatible with privacy, and more broadly speaking: tangible assurance, personal data isn't being collected without one's explicit consent (regardless of whether the "expectation of privacy" demoralization applies). My sympathy goes out to any well-intended officer, tasked with treating symptoms of an effective aristocracy: intolerant towards meaningful change, which would challenge its self-serving interests. Just a thought, which has been plaguing me for too long... :)

Do you really think all the data centers being built are for chatgpt, etc? Something's going on.

My theory is they are marketing these data centers around the chatgpt, etc glorified search engines. But in reality these data centers are being built for large scale surveillance. Like hiding a cannabis grow houses in a neighborhood.

I made a post on another thread that goes on more about these ideas.

Edit...

To add to this. Not all this is about "privacy"... It's about data mining for social control. Profiling people not only to track their dissent of ideology away from what "they" consider to be the "correct" lifestyle/government, but also to market the "correct lifestyle" to each individual with perfect psychological manipulative accuracy. In order to maintain the path of humanity in accordance to their ideologies and agendas.

They used to do it through magazines and cable tv. Then they did it through the early internet advertising... Then we all saw social media and smartphones get raped by their lust for social control. ....what I said above about ai data centers is the next step. In the post I linked to I talked about this all being part of the governing system and 1st world cultural lifestyle transitioning from analog to full digital.

Whether you believe in God, or The Universe.... It's already on its death bed. Humanity is losing touch with the divine/universal essence/spark.

I used to be a nerd into transhumanism! Now the thought of my own death makes me feel relaxed.

It's similar to the race for nuclear weapons dominance. Anything will be done to anyone to be the winner. Maybe even the near collapse of some countries as we know them for the chance to replace them with this world dominating system of modern governing.
