Frankenstein (2025)
Nightmare Alley (2021)
Both directed by Guilermo del Toro.
Frankenstein was what I expected from this director. A nicely produced steampunkish, very slightly "horror" retelling of the story with medium depth. Good entertainment.
Nightmare Alley I haven't finished watching yet. It does not fall into the typical mold of medium-depth entertainment - at least not yet. Or maybe I'm just sick of hearing that all-too-American story of a poor guy who made it big by leaving any sense of ethics by the side.
