Out for a run one early morning, still dark, and I hear something running up behind me. No time to think I turned around, made myself big, arms spread out and high, and yelled as deep and as loud as I could. That poor Yorkie turned around and yipped all the way back to its house where I could see the owner on the porch shaking her head at me.

So, you might surprise yourself. I certainly did.

I got attacked by herding dogs while hiking. I have a phobia of dogs but also had pepper spray and a taser on me. I surprised myself by not shitting my pants and instead making noise with the very loud taser until their lazy-ass owner came to bring them back to the herd they abandoned to fuck with me
