Indonesia as a whole is extremely safe, as is Laos and Thailand. I’ve also lived in El Salavador and Mexico and whilst they have their dangers, I don’t think female travelers are at higher risk of harm. (In my experience, anyway.)
I don’t think I’ve been anywhere that I really felt unsafe as a female - Sri Lanka was the worst in terms of being constantly hassled, but even there, I didn’t feel unsafe.
Thailand has had issues with tourist deaths, although small in terms of raw numbers compared to the very large number of visitors. Also some of the dangers could also be from the other tourists themselves!

my friend was almost sex trafficked in mexico, it’s one of those places that varies wildly in safety depending on what city you’re in. would not consider it 100% safe.
