My friend claims he got $2,000 off a new moonwatch at a local AD. I would like to buy the same watch myself and I’m wondering if $2,000 off is realistic or if maybe my friend was lying. I will also be buying some jewelry from the AD when I purchase my watch and am happy to pay full price for the jewelry if that helps get a discount on the watch

It’s all relative. In India ADs regularly dish out 20 some times up to 40% off. Apart from Rolex I haven’t paid full price for a single watch purchased from a dealer

Agree. Most ADs give you between 10-30% on everything but some brands where they can’t give you a discount. VC, AP, Patek, Rolex and Urwerk are not allowed to be sold for anything else then msrp

So asking for 40% off a moonwatch at an indian AD is within the realm of possibility?

I was curious so made a quick enquiry. He wanted to get on call because the permissible discount from Omega is 5% but they're offering 24%. As I said its relative. My father purchased his Breguet for 40% off. It's improbable on an entry level Omega, but not impossible.
