I was curious just how Chet’s been this year and went to Basketball Reference to see where he ranked among all players in a few advanced stats.

These were the results:

11th Win Shares, 16th Win Shares Per 48, 26th PER, 20th Box Plus Minus and 17th in VORP.

What other advanced stats are out there that people value and what do those show? Is it possible he’s already a top 30 player?

No it's not. He's currently better than Wemby. Wemby has one of the highest ceilings in NBA history but he doesn't understand how to play basketball yet and that's ok.

Chet has grown in the NBA sitting out all last year and it's a given him a huge advantage. He's impacting game at a high level right now on both ends.

All Chet has to do is sit back and let his all NBA point guard and much more talented teammates set everything up for him on a silver platter, so he can take whatever wide open looks he gets. If Wemby was in that position he would be doing even better than Chet and Chet would not be able to do what Wemby has had to do in San Antonio.

The only thing Chet has going for him over Wemby is efficiency and that’s 100% due to their difference in roles and the competency of teammates. You swap them and the Spurs get worse and the Thunder get better
