Doug Ford would have been a better politician if they had found him dead with a crack pipe in his mouth 10 years ago.

Careful what you wish for, zombies have a pretty good track record starting religions.

First off: @#$% off, Ford. Second, this continues a trend we've seen most prominently under the clown show that is Danielle Smith's UCP in Alberta: Provincial governments wanting to dictate municipal affairs according to their own political agenda, which I don't think is healthy for Canadian cities

You can tell that the rich and powerful are really afraid of these protests spilling over into a general dissatisfaction with the status quo.

They were, mostly, fine with the Convoy because that was a revolt of the privileged against restrictions, but this, this is more like OWS or the G20, a threat to those in charge. They know they've pushed things pretty far, disenfranchising people and squeezing them for everything their worth. They're hoping they can keep us at each others' throats and maybe benefit from a little protofascist dog-whistling, and they're really concerned that they might lose control.

Why ? Have they done anything violent ?

[–] WhatAmLemmy@lemmy.world 18 points 6 months ago

They've committed the worst crime imaginable β€” threatening the future profits of the corporatocracy!

I thought this was supposed to be satire...

I didn't realize he was actually coming out against encampments. And using the word move made me immediately think it was the same Beaverton article, but nope.

Yet he was nowhere to be found during the convoy protests in Ottawa. He was even recorded to voice his support for it.

Doug Ford needs to move off the end of a pier.

[–] SplashJackson@lemmy.ca 8 points 6 months ago

Or perhaps an open window

[–] reddig33@lemmy.world 7 points 6 months ago (1 children)

He is so creepy. Like a Great Value version of Brock Lesnar.

[–] ivanafterall@kbin.social 3 points 6 months ago

Ha, a great comparison. Like Brock resorbed most of his twin, but Doug Ford is what was left over.

[–] Dreizehn@kbin.social 5 points 6 months ago

Doug, go smoke some more crack cocaine and get fucking lost.

[–] Yezzey@lemmy.ca 3 points 6 months ago

Move it to Queens Park!

Where is the Justice Center for Consttutional Freedom? Why aren't they defending these protesters? Oh, right...they're actually just a right wing troll farm that supports white supremacists, white nationalists, racists, Diagaloons, and other assholes. They don't take on real cases of Consttutional issues.
