Can never say no to a Godzilla movie.

I can - and that movie is Son of Godzilla.

This one, though, I'm excited about.

I could pass on 1998 Godzilla. Seeing him get smacked down in Final Wars was alright though.

Was 1998 Godzilla a disappointment? Yes, very much so, but I propose that if it wasn't supposed to be Godzilla, but instead just some other big monster, it wouldn't have sucked as bad. As a Godzilla movie it failed, but as a big monster movie it was passable.

And you’re not wrong. BUT they called that little guy Godzilla… all while making a perfectly serviceable western monster movie. That’s the rub, they took the name…

Like the Japanese said “they took the God out of Godzilla”. That’s why in the Japanese film they refer to it as just “zilla” and the villain of the film calls it “useless”.

I couldn't agree more! I loved how Japan displayed their feelings about zilla when they had Godzilla face off against it, and dispatch that pathetic excuse for a Godzilla in two shakes of a lambs tail.

This looks pretty great, after loving Shin Godzilla, it's great to see another change of for Big G.
