I know not all instances require it. I know not all instances take too long.

But I made an alt over 24 hrs ago and still waiting. Again I understand having this protocol but it doesnt make it any less frustrating.

It was also one of the biggest instances. Im also not making another account on some other instance just incase this one does get approved and I have an extra account then.

It is far better to have a backup account on another instance, why would you want an account on the same one? If something happens to the server both accounts are gone. Plus there are some tools now to sync in the least subscriptions between two accounts, like Lemmy Handshake for android.

Oh no it's on a different instance, my curret instance is great and was approved within 20 mins.

If the instance requires verified emails the application won’t even show up to staff if it’s not verified
