Pine64's goal is to push the envelope and deliver ARM and RISC-V devices that you want to use and develop for. To this end, we actively work with the development community and champion end-user initiatives. Rather than applying business to a FOSS setting, we allow FOSS principles to guide our business.

Ordered a PineTime (and a Pinecil) direct on 6/26/2024, it shipped from China on 6/28 and I received it today 7/5. I'm on the west coast of the US and I'm really impressed with the shipping time.

Charged it a bit, then updated to the current InfiniTime 1.14.

Bootloader is still at 1.0.0, there hasn't been any updates for that, right?

It also says to update the recovery firmware, but I don't see which version I'm currently on and couldn't find an updated version.

Otherwise, it seems nice so far. I'm on Android and setting up with GadgetBridge wasn't difficult (since I knew to pair directly from GB and not using the phones BTW pairing).

hah, I also ordered the watch and iron at the same time.

I'm not sure if the bootloader has since been updated (or whether it's even upgradeable) but the latest iteration of infinitime has some fascinating memory usage improvements it's really interesting to read up on given the hardware constraints they're working with.

To update the recovery firmware, you need to hold the power button and 'confirm' the new firmware version you've just updated to, otherwise it will revert on power cycle (presumably as a safety measure against bad updates).

Please be careful with the charging cradle, the solder joints leading from the cable are not particularly strong, though it is thankfully quite easy to repair, especially with your new pinecil :)

Thanks for the tips, I appreciate the help. I had already confirmed the new 1.14, so it looks like I'm good.

I was curious how to add weather and customize the watch face, figured out by pressing and holding on the watch face it would bring up the settings screen.

Enjoying it so far.

I had no idea that was a thing! Cool!

Thank you
