Yes, it still largely works, but the web front end is broken. It works via apps or alternative frontends, for example: https://alexandrite.app/feddit.de
The main admin of feddit.de travelled abroad a few months ago and has since disappeared . The other mods couldn't fix the errors because they don't have the password for the server administration.
However, many communities have already moved to feddit.org because it is not foreseeable whether feddit.de will work again.
@caos Damn! I didn't know this at all. I'm also very sorry because for me (I'm one of the admins of feddit.it) feddit.de is a bit like a kind of big brother!
In any case, thank you for the information and I also thank you for the tip regarding alexandrite. Sometimes, we too at feddit.it have had some problems with the web server, so we are happy to know that there are frontends that can be used in case of emergency...
the frontend has been borked for months. We pretty much all switched to feddit.org
The front-end is pretty much broken since a few months and there seems to be no admin with either the knowledge, the permissions, or the time to fix it. Federation seems to work, though. As well as the API for apps, but ~~all~~, ~~most~~, a lot of feddit.de communities moved to feddit.org with same name.
Admin are pretty much inactive and stuff stops working. Most people moved to feddit.org.
